REQUEST FOR PUBLIC COMMENT ON “DRAFT REGULATORY SANDBOX DIRECTIVE”
Pursuant to the power vested in it under Article 6(21) & Article 53(2) of the National Bank of Ethiopia Proclamation No. 1359/2025; Article 89(2) & Article 91(2) of the Banking Business Proclamation No. 1360/2025 and in line with relevant articles of the Federal Administrative Procedure Proclamation No. 1183/2020, the National Bank of Ethiopia has drafted “Regulatory Sandbox Directive”
The draft Directive aims to establish a regulatory sandbox framework that facilitates testing and deployment of responsible financial innovations such as new financial products, services, technologies and business models through a controlled and structured live-testing environment.
Thus, the National Bank of Ethiopia hereby invites any interested/concerned person/s to submit written comments on the draft Directives within 15 working days, commencing from the date of publication of this notice and the draft Directive in the National Bank website.
